Labour Union Picnic 2022
After a two-year hiatus, Thunder Bay and District Labour council held its annual Labour Day Picnic on September 5, 2022 at Current River Park, welcoming the community for a fun filled day of treats and activities. Hundreds of community members came out to enjoy live entertainment, bouncy castles, and pony rides on one of the last hot days of this summer season.
Thunder Bay and District Labour Council represents 25 unions and more than 22,000 members throughout the district. The Labour Day Picnic allows for the community to reflect and celebrate the triumphs of union workers. A large part of the event is education, with local unions supplying materials to community members. Labour is poised to be a big topic in the upcoming municipal election, as working conditions have come to the forefront over the pandemic.
