> 3 | Hito Steyerl: How Not To Be Seen; A F#@&ing Didactic Educational .MOV File: Steyerl is a Japanese born, German filmmaker, writer and philosopher, who has been named the most influential person in the art world.
This immersive contemporary art film (15 min.), investigates the troubling effects of digital media and new technology, on multiple levels of meaning.
The work pushes the boundary of traditional video, often obscuring what is real, beneath many layers of metaphors and satirical humor.

Vox Popular is a non-profit Media Arts Festival in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada and is the evolution of the Bay Street Film Festival. We program Canadian and International films, multimedia installations, and media artists of all genres. An annual film festival is held in September each year with the 19th year approaching for 2023. The festival will include local, Canadian, and international films; a concert series; a virtual gallery; and panel discussions with filmmakers, musicians, and visual artists!
Definitely Superior Art Gallery (DefSup) is Northwestern Ontario’s non-profit artist-run-centre for the contemporary arts, formed and directed by artists to support contemporary art and the artists that produce it.
