We invite you to enjoy four different downtown locations, each stop including food and a drink (mocktails for those partaking in Dry-Feb), interact with new people and support the Northern Reach Rescue Network.

You will begin at Goods and Co. at the Woodside Bar, carry on to El Tres, enjoy your main course at Seler/Event Space and then end with a sweet treat at the Red Lion Smokehouse where you can take your evening on whatever journey comes next.

This event will offer exclusive items that are not necessarily on the menu (yet!) at these locations and the opportunity to shake up the February doldrums!

We will have two departure time slots (5:30pm and 6:15pm) available with 20 people per group. The entire event will last roughly 2.5 hours, therefore ending no later than 9pm if you depart at 6:15pm.

Limited tickets available (40 total).

Gather your team of 2 or 4 for a fun night of Memory in support of the Alzheimer Society Thunder Bay!

Get active, raise funds to support people in our community and region, and get ready to RUN THE NORTH!

United Way of Thunder Bay, Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards, and Wasaya Airways are excited to announce the return of our 3rd ‘Run the North’ event.

Virtual: June 9 – 19, 2022!

OR

New this year, an optional in-person Walk/Fun-Run. Held in Thunder Bay at Boulevard Lake on Saturday, June 18, 2022 starting at 10:30 a.m. (participation is limited to the first 150 registrants).

Over the last 2 years, we’ve hosted this virtual non-competitive race that had participants from over 31 communities across the region walk, run, bike or hike, a 1k or 5k distance, allowing them to ‘run their race at their pace’. Some did their activities individually, while others participated as a family, or even as a work group! All participants receive a race kit including a medal and race bib. Prizes are also awarded to those who do additional fundraising and share their race journeys on social media!

Last year, with the support of our 345 participants, hundreds of donors, and generous sponsors, we were able to raise over $27,000!

For 2022, we are excited to expand on the success of this event (the largest race in NWO), with a goal of having 500+ participants to raise over $30,000!

Whether virtual or in-person, participants are encouraged to help support youth in our region/community through additional fundraising by asking family and friends to support their efforts. Participants can collect donations online by creating a P2P fundraising page, or by downloading a paper pledge form.

Funds raised through this event will be used to support youth programming funded by the United Way of Thunder Bay and Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards.

The United Way of Thunder Bay advocates to create positive support systems, build self-esteem, and expose youth to positive role models, doors to success and empowerment can open for youth helping them to reach their full potential. Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards focuses on recognizing and honouring Indigenous youth along their journey as they look forward to new and innovative ways of learning and planning for their future.

United Way of Thunder Bay and Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards are working with community partners to embrace diversity & support people throughout our region. Events such as this one would not be possible without our sponsors. We invite you to ‘Run the North’ with us, by joining us as a sponsor today!
