Leap of Kindness Day 2024

2024 is a Leap Year, and this means we all get one extra day on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

What will you do with your extra day? Our idea – – use your extra day to do something kind for someone else and encourage everyone in your family, workplace, and community to do the same.

To get started, click on the Leap of Kindness Day poster (attached below), share the poster, and the Leap of Kindness Day website with your family, friends, coworkers, and your local Chamber of Commerce or United Way. Reach out to local charities and nonprofits in your community to find out what they need and decide what act of kindness you want to perform on February 29, 2024. Share what you plan to do on Leap of Kindness Day and invite others to follow your lead.

Here are some of our favourite Leap of Kindness Day activities from 2016 and 2020:

  • Deliver breakfast or lunch to local first responders
  • Take flowers or non-skid socks to a local nursing home
  • Collect clothes, food, or personal care items for a local shelter
  • Send a thank you card to someone who means a lot to you
  • Clean up a local park, playground, or trail
  • If you own a shop or restaurant, donate a percentage of sales on Leap of Kindness Day to your favourite charity
  • Bake cookies for teachers, school bus drivers, or crossing guards

What will you do with your extra day? Tell us at info@saratoga.org.

Brewing Conversations

I’m thrilled to introduce “Brewing Conversations,” a groundbreaking panel discussion dedicated to initiating open conversations about periods in public, aiming to dismantle the stigma. This conversation will be hosted by my lovely friend, Brayden Chartrand who has been my right hand man over the last few weeks. Our event will showcase insightful stories from panelists including myself, Josia Prince, Paurvinder Kaur, and Katie Simmons.

Hosted in the Lakehead University Alumni Lounge, tickets will be $20 and available on the website flowingforchange.ca. All money raised from ticket sales will be invested back into the campaign, and be used to purchase 8 cycles worth of products for menstruators in need!

Join us as we delve into meaningful discussions, exploring a variety of questions and fostering a more inclusive dialogue on menstruation. 🌟🗣️ #BrewingConversations #BreakTheStigma #periods #periodpoverty
